The Importance of Family Ties!

image The family, which is the basic unit of civilization, is now disintegrating. Islam’s family system brings the rights of the husband, wife, children, and relatives into a fine equilibrium. It nourishes unselfish behavior, generosity, and love in the framework of a well-organized family system. The peace and security offered by a stable family unit is greatly valued, and it is seen as essential for the spiritual and emotional growth of its members. A harmonious social order is created by the existence of extended families and by treasuring children.

Human being is socially bonded to many relations. First of all there are blood relations, from whom you are born or who are born from you. One of the most important bondage or relation is that of a husband and wife or spouses. Then it goes on with kinship to different levels and categories.

A family bondage is very important for the wellbeing or nurturing of a person and it’s a great trial or impossible to survive without those family ties. These family ties are adorable but trying too at certain times. One badly needs a family or relatives support in hard, trying and sensitive times. Their consolation and moral support helps a lot in building up the self-esteem and handle the grief and pain.

In Islam respect of elders and to be kind and loving with Youngers is a great part of religion. Respect for others shows great amounts of self-esteem to them. It is interesting to see how a child-orientated and religious orientated culture operates. Sacrificing own whims and desires for the benefit of family is a great part of Islamic society.

Individuals comprising any society are tied together by related group bonds. The strongest of all societal bonds is that of the family. And while it can be justifiably argued that the basic family unit is the foundation of any given human society, this holds particularly true for Muslims. As a matter of fact, the great status that Islam affords to the family system is the most important factor that so often attracts many new converts to Islam, particularly women. Family values play an integral role in the formation of Muslim society.

So, what are the particular values or traits of Islamic family life that so many are finding so appealing?

One can see that family values in Islam are one of its major attractions. These values stem from God and His guidance, through the Quran and the example and teaching of His Messenger, Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God upon him, who indicates the family unit as being one of the mainstays of religion and Islamic way of life. The importance of forming a family is underscored by a saying of the holy Prophet himself, who said:

“When a man marries, he has fulfilled half of his religion, so let him fear God regarding the remaining half. (al-Baihaqi)

The Family is a part of the Islamic social order. The society that Islam wants to establish is a clean pure society. It establishes an ideological society, with a high level of moral awareness, strong commitment, attitude and fulfillment of an amazing human behavior. Its discipline is not an imposed discipline, but one that flows out of every individual's commitment to the values and ideals of Islam. In this society a high degree of social responsibility prevails. The entire system operates in a way that strengthens and fortifies the family and not otherwise.

Thus we can truly claim that family relations are the back bone of Muslim society, which protect it from many evils.

A strong family is a great asset to value.

چلو بھر پانی——

چلو بھر پانی؛ میں ڈوب جاؤ یا ڈوب مرو،اردو زبان کا مشہور محاورہ ہے اور زبان زد عام ہے ۔عام طور سے یہ غیرت دلانے اور شرمندہ کرنیکے لئے کہا جاتاہے اسلئے کہ چلو بھر پانی میں ڈوبنا تو درکنار کوئی گیلا بھی نہیں ہوسکتا ، البتہ پیاس سے تڑپتے ہوئے شخص کے لئے چلو بھر پانی بھی کافی ہوتا ہے ۔۔
امریکی ریاست مشی گن کے قصبے فلنٹ ' میں پانی کی آلودگی نے پورے امریکہ میں ایک ہلچل اور تشویش پھیلادی۔۔پانی اس حد تک آلودہ تھا کہ اسکا رنگ بھورا تھا اور اسمیں سیسے کی آمیزش خطرناک حد تک تھی۔۔اس سے کئی لوگ بیمار اور متاثر ہوئے۔۔اسطرح کا ألودہ پانی اور وہ بھی امریکہ میں پورے ملک میں ایک زبردست ہنگامہ مچ گیا ۔۔ اسکو نسلی ، طبقاتی رنگ بھی دیا گیا کیونکہ اس علاقے میں بیشتر أبادی سیاہ فام لوگوں کی ہے ۔۔ مشہور و معروف حق کی أواز بلند کرنیوالے ہالی ووڈ کے متنازغہ فلمسازاور ہدایت کار مائیکل مور کا تعلق بھی اسی قصبے سے ہے ۔۔ ڈیمو کریٹک پارٹی نے یہاں کے باشندوں کو سہارا دینے کیلئے یہاں ایک صدارتی امیدواروں کا مبا حثہ رکھا۔۔ابھی حال ہی میں ان افسران کا کڑا احتساب کیا گیا ،انکو معطل کیا گیا اور کڑی سزائیں تجویز ہوئیں وہ جو فلنٹ میں پانی کی رسد اور ترسیل کے ذمہ دار تھے اور جنکی مجرمانہ غفلت کے باعث یہ افسوسناک واقع ظہور پذیر ہوا۔۔
اس واقعے سے مجھے اپنے کراچی میں رہائش کے وہ تکلیف دن یادآگئے جب پانی کی حصول کی کوششیں زندگی   کا ایک اہم اور انتہائی تکلیف دہ حصہ تھا اسپر تو ایک کتاب لکھی جاسکتی ہے
اب بھی اکثر راتوں کو میں گھبرا کر اٹھ جاتی ہوں کہ میری ٹنکی میں پانی نہیں آیا، یا میں پمپ چلانا بھول گئی ہوں ۔۔یہ بھیانک خواب مجھے جو آتا ہے اسکی کئی وجوہات ہیں-
میری زندگی کا آدھا وقت پانی والوں، واٹر بورڈ کے انجینئروں کو فون کرنے اور ان سے ملاقاتیں کرنے میں گزرتا،میری فون بک میں آدھے نمبر پانی والوں کے ہوتے تھے، والو مین valve manتو جیسےہمارا خاص الخاص شخص  تھا جسے خوش رکھنےکی ہر ممکن کوشش ہوتی اور یہ سو فیصد حقیقت ہے،ہرگز ہرگز مبالغہ آرایئ نہیں ہے اور پھر منہ مانگے ٹینکروں کا حصول اللہ کی پناہ اور اس مشقت میں کتنی تکالیف اٹھایئ ہیں وہ میں اور میرا رب یا میرے گھر والے جانتے ہیں ۔ جب میرے ہاں رہائشی مہمان أتے تھے تو سب سے زیادہ پریشانی یہ ہوتی تھی کہ پانی کی رسد میں فراوانی کیسے کی جائے ۔۔؟ ایسی صورتحال اکثر پیش أئی کہ اوپر نیچے کی دونوں ٹنکیاں پونچھ پانچھ کے رکھ دیں اور پھر مہنگے داموں پانی کے حصول کے لئے دوڑتے رہے۔ افسوس کی اسوقت پانی کے ڈسپنسر اورپانی کی بوتلیں میسر نہیں تھیں۔۔
ٹنکی میں گرتےہوئے پانی کی آواز سے مدھر آواز میری زندگی میں کوئی نہیں تھی اور اس روز کی خوشی کا کیا عالم ،جب اوپر نیچے کی دونوں ٹنکیاں بھر جاتیں اور میرے پیڑ پودے بخوبی سیراب ہو جاتے، پاکستان کی زندگی بھی کیا خوشیوں سے بھر پور ہوتی ہے- پانی آنے کی خوشی ان میں سے ایک تھی- اور اسکو حاصل کرنے کے لیےکئ فون کال 'واٹر بورڈ کےکئ چکر اور والو مین کے مختلف مشورے شامل ہوتے- قسم قسم کے suction pump ،جا بجا کھدائیاں لمبے لمبے پائپ اور اگر پانی آجائے تو کیا کہنے!! جو ہالیجی کا گدلہ پانی آتا تھا اسکو پینے کے قابل بنانا بھی ایک کار دارد—ابال کر اس میں پھٹکڑ ی پھیری جاتی ، جب گدلہ نیچے بیٹھ جاتا تو صاف اوپر سے نتھار لیا جاتا- یہ تمام تگ و دو میری زندگی کا ایک لازم حصہ تھا — اسکے باوجود واٹر بورڈ کے پانی کے ایک بھاری بل کی ادائیگی بھی لازم تھی  یہ سوچے بغیر کہ سال میں کتنی مرتبہ واقعی ہمیں انکی جانب سے پانی میسر تھا ،کیونکہ ہم ایک قانون پسند شہری ہیں اور ہمیں احتجاج کرکے کسی قسم کے انصاف کی امید نہیں تھی-  پھر بھی ہم خوش تھے کہ زندہ تو ہیں-کیونکہ اس پانی کے فراہمی پربعد میں اس  سیاسی پارٹی کی  اجارہ داری تھی  جن سے ٹکر لینا ہم جیسے بے  بسوں کے بس میں نہیں تھا۔۔
اب بھی کراچی میں وہی حال ہے شہر کاأدھا ٹریفک پانی کے ٹینکروں کا ہوتا ہے۔۔پورا ٹینکر مافیا ہے جسکی شہر میں اجارہ داری ہے۔کراچی کے وہ باشندے اور شہری جنکے ہاں پانی کی فراوانی ہے خوش قسمت ترین شہری کہلانے کے حقدار ہیں۔۔

پچھلے سال یہاں امریکہ میں گھر میں گرم پانی کی لائن میں مسئلہ ہوا ایک عجیب پریشانی، گرم پانی کے بغیر کیسے گزارہ ہوگا؟ انشورنس کمپنی نے ہوٹل لے جانے کی پیشکش کی تاکہ مسئلے کے حل تک وہیں رہا جائے، اسے کیا معلوم کہ ہم پاکستانی ہیں اور کھال موٹی ہے بلکہ ایسے بحرانوں کو معمولی جانتے ہیں - لیکن جو بچے یہاں کے پیدا شدہ ہیں اور بقول کسےABCD ہیں یہ تو آپ سب جانتے ہی ہونگے( born confused desis American) -وہ حیران پریشان کہ اس آفت کا مقابلہ کیونکر ہوگا- وال مارٹ سے ایک پوچے کی بڑی با لٹی ڈھونڈھ کر خریدی گئی پتیلی میں پانی گرم کیا جاتا اور یوں گزارہ ہوا -What a hassle?
24 گھنٹے، نہ رکنے  والا پانی کہاں سےآتاہے اور کیسے آتا ہے ہمیں فکر اور ترددکرنے کی کوئی ضرورت نہیں،ہمیں مطلب ہے تو اس سے کہ اس میں ہرگز کوئی رکاؤٹ نہیں ہوگی اور یہ صاف پانی ہوگا- ہاں لیکن یہاں پر پانی بھاری اور سخت ہے جسکے لئے ایک مشین لگی ہوئی ہے ، ساتھ میں ایک جدید فلٹر لگا ہوا ہے ۔اور یہی وجوہات ہیں کہ زندگی کی انہی آسائشوں اور سہولتوں کے حصول کے لئے سات سمندر پار ہم لوگ اپنا وطن ، اپنی تہذیب و ثقافت کو پیچھے چھوڑ آئے اور یہاں ،جہاں دین بھی داؤ پر لگا ہوا ہے- مختلف ذرائع سے ہمیں ان ممالک سے روکنے کی کوشش ہو رہی ہے لیکن بھلا ہم کہاں باز آنے والے ہیں- اب جب اپنے مادر وطن جانا ہوتا ہے تو سب سے زیادہ احتیاط پانی کی جاتی ہے ورنہ بد ہضمی لازم ہے-
پانی انسان کی ایک بنیاد ی ضرورت ہے اس پانی کی تلاش میں قافلے سرگرداں رہتے تھے اورجہاں پانی مل جاتا وہیں بود و باش اختیار کرتے اسی طرح شہر اور بستیاں آباد ہوئیں پانی واقعی زندگی ہے- انسانی جسم کی ساخت میں 80 فیصد پانی ہے اور اس جسم کی بقاء کا انحصار بھی ہوا،پانی اور غذا پر ہے- اسی اصول کے مطابق دنیا کی بیشتر أبادی دریا، جھیلوں ، تالابوں اور چشموں کے گرد و نواح میں ہے۔۔
ابراہیم علیہ السلام جب بی بی حاجرہ اور اسماعیل علیہ السلام کو بے آب و گیاہ سرزمین پر چھوڑ آۓ توبی بی حاجرہ پانی کی تلاش میں صفا ومروہ کے درمیان سرگرداں تھیں، دیکھا کہ ننھے اسماعیل کی ایڑیوں تلے اللہ کی قدرت سے  پانی کا چشمہ  پھوٹ پڑا ہے- انھوں نےکہا’ زم زم" رک جا اے پانی یہیں رک جا اور اپنے ہاتھوں سے اس کے گرد بند باندھا -آیک قافلہ بھی یہیں آکر رک گیا اور یوں یہ بستی بسی اور ایسے بسی کہ مرجع خلائق ہوگئی- اللہ تبارک و تعالیٰ کو بھی یہ بستی اتنی بھائی کہ اسکو اپنے محترم گھر کے لیے چن لیا اس پانی میں اسقدر خیر و برکت ڈال دی کہ ہزاروں سال گزرنے کے بعد بھی اسکی سیرابی میں فرق نہیں آیا— اس پانی میں معدنیاتی تاثیر انتہائی مشفی ہے موجودہ سعودی حکومت نے اس پانی کی ترسیل کا بہترین انتظام حرمین شریفین میں کیا ہے ۔ حرم شریف میں تو یہ کنوواں موجود ہے اور زم زم کے پانی کی جانچ پڑتال کی لیبارٹری ہے تاکہ پانی میں کسی قسم کی ألودگی نہ ہونے پائے لاکھوں کے حساب سے صاف ستھرے کولر حرمین میں موجود رہتے ہیں ۔۔جس سے لاکھوں زائرین روزانہ فیض یاب ہوتے ہیں ۔۔
دنیا میں اسوقت صاف پانی کی فراہمی ایک مسئلہ بنی ہوئی ہے ،دریا ، کنوئیں ، ندیاں ألودگی کے مسئلے سے دوچار ہیں ۔کتنے ممالک ہیں  جہاں کی أبادیوں کو صاف اور پینے والا پانی دستیاب نہیں ہے ۔ عرب اور مشرق وسطے کے ممالک نے سمندر کے پانی سے نمک ہٹاکر  استعمال کے قابل لانیکے لئے بڑے بڑے پلانٹ لگائے ہیں۔ وہاں پر پینے کے پانی اور پٹرول کی قیمت یکساں ہے ۔اس لحاظ سے کینیڈا اور امریکہ کی شمالی ریاستوں میں میٹھے پانی کی وسیع و عریض جھیلیں پانی کا ایک بڑا خزانہ اور ذریعہ ہیں۔۔
پانی سے زندگی ہے اللہ تعالی قرأن پاک میں ارشاد فرماتا ہے ہم نے تمام زندہ چیزوں کو پانی سے پیدا کیا ہے ۔۔ اسلئے زندہ اشیاءکی زندگی پانی کی مرہون منت ہیں۔۔اور مصیبت کے وقت ایک چلو بھی کافی ہو جاتا ہے۔۔

Early in the morning after Fajar prayer when most

the Karachiites are fast asleep, early risers and

enthusiastic walkers head towards the Safari Park.

They belong to every walk of life. Among them some

are office-goers, weight-conscious women and youngsters

who struggle to shed a few pounds. But most of

them are retired personal. Some are advised to have a

walk by their doctors to control their blood pressure,

sugar level and overcome cardiac problems. While others

do it to remain fit and burn extra calories.

While strolling is Safari Park, one can hear all the

languages spoken in Pakistan. While men and women

of all origin could be seen there, But the most evident

are the Afghans. I believe that while they come from a

martial race, they are more interested in looking after

their health and fitness.

Some foreign students studying here could also be

seen, who come from their hostels for an early morning

hike. A number of people opt for brisk walk heading

towards the hillock, which is named Al-Manzar. There

are groups busy in learning martial arts like Judo

Karate and Taekwandoe. Some undertake exercises and

gymnastic feats. Some of them enjoy to take deep

breathing in the fresh air. Many walk bare-footed on the

grassed lawns to enhance their eyesight.

Ladies could also be seen in chaddars and burqas

(veils). Many could be seen gossiping and some

indulge in spicy political discussions, They chat and

walk in groups. There are, however, a few lone walkers

too who avoid mixing up and stroll around quietly.

Some could be seen holding tasbeehs and reciting verses

while hiking.

Most of them come in cars of motorbikes. While

many prefer to come to park on foot. Though Safari

Park has no proper jogging tracks, but still people could

be seen walking around in the park. It has spacious

lawns in the midst of trees and fresh air. While there are

no formal lavatories, many a labourers and adjacent

shanty areas dwellers use the bushes for the same. One

has to often go through the pungent odour in the early

morning walk.

In fact, it’s a tough job to hike in the morning. One

has to get up early, put on jogger shoes and attire properly

When one starts morning walk, the first few days

are very crucial with aching legs and body. The

moment one is accustomed to it, it seems to be a

refreshing job. Exports are of the view that it’s not necessary

to walk only early in the morning, one can do it

at any point of the day. Some could be seen hiking in

the evenings, too.

Safari Park project was initiated in 1971, but it

never emerged as a real safari. This park had a vast area

and it was said that it would be the biggest park in the

country. some of its area has now been handed over to

a commercial amusement park. Initially roads were laid

in the Safari Park and people used to enjoy a ride on

them. Now the roads are used by the pedestrians.

There are some deer and other wildlife in the safari.

One can watch them running and grazing on the backside

of the hillock. Neelguys, a pair of zebra, peacocks,

turkeys, pheasant and ducks can also e seen around inthe park. Apond there was initially used for a boat ride,

but later it was turned into birds habitat. There were

once a few pairs of elegant black swans with red beaks.

They are no more today. They might have fell prey at

the hands of unscrupulous elements.

While most of Karachi’s gardens have a lot of

flowers in spring, Safari Park wears a barren look.

The Banyan trees have dried out and green belts are

non-existent. With the installation of nurseries around

the Safari Park’s payments, it’s outlook has somewhat

improved.

One wonders if the KMC cannot manage such public

parks properly, it should hand them over to some

private concerns.
